Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases in women worldwide. Overweight and obesity have already been linked to breast cancer several years ago by some authors. It has been hypothesized that the genesis and progression of cancer may be caused by different factors including changes in the synthesis and bioavailability of sex hormones, insulin resistance, release of growth factors and / or pro-inflammatory cytokines, and abnormal energy waste and expenditure.
Keywords
Breast cancer, obesity, overweight, body mass index, exercise.
